How To Use A Puppet To Teach Classroom Rules
I’m also terrible at drawing!! I love all your ideas!!! You’re an invaluable resource! 💕💕
I'm glad they will help you. I've learned it all the hard way...Whewww.
@@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun I’ve been blessed so far in my career to have colleagues who are experienced and wise. And to have the internet to look up people like you who are also experienced and wise.
Amazing job! Will use these tips this upcoming year
If you have any questions please let me know.
@@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun would you personally recommend modeling and demonstrating behaviors for the whole class or in their small groups?
Great ideas! I haven’t really used small groups before and I’m going to use them this coming year so I liked all your ideas! Thanks
I'm so glad it was helpful. Small group time is so fun.
I love the singing!
Sometimes a classroom can feel like a musical.
Aw I did something like this! I had a “shoulder pal” who would occasionally sit on my shoulder during times I REALLY needed kids to behave, and he’d seek out a secret star student 😅
Oh my gosh. I love it. I bet your students responded so well. Thanks so much for sharing. 💕
Thanks Angie. Love your videos and advice! I teach 3rd grade and love this grade. I taught them your chant - if you see it, pick it up. Not only has this worked for some but they enjoy singing it. ♥️
That’s so cool. I love hearing success stories. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes it feels like you’re in “Elementary Classroom- The Musical” (My own version of ‘high school musical’ lol).
Thank you! First year teaching coming up, just hired for TK. Super excited but also nervous about how to establish routines. I appreciate these videos.
I’m so excited for you. You are right on track to a fantastic start.
Hi Angie! I hope not to be late for the morning message!
Because I'm doing my teacher training in Kindergarten for the first time in August! And I'm planning my first classes
So excited for you. Yes. I want to do a live stream so people can ask questions and get ideas from each other. I am planning it for mid July.
That is so smart
I’m glad you liked it.
How do you make reading literacy kit and How do you make an activity binder for fidgety students? I love your RUclips channel and your RUclips videos for the tips. They’re really helpful to any teacher right now or soon she’ll become a teacher.
I did an early finisher binder with my students. It had math and literacy games in it. It had individual or partner games. It also had creative activities. I’m planning a walkthrough of it in a future video. I will put the creation of that video on the top of the list. I’m glad you are getting ideas and tips from the videos. I try to make videos about topics I wished I would have had. 😊
@@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun okay thanks
Great chant. I'll have to add it to my rotation. I usually sing that one from Bubble Guppies.
It’s nice to have a few to rotate through. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Very concise and informative!!
I’m glad you found it helpful.
What, besides class class~yes yes, did you love from whole brain teaching? It seems a bit overwhelming.
Yah. I didn’t ever get formal training on it so I would watch a video and then try it. I did “super improver board “ and I probably wouldn’t do it again. Again it might have been my lack of training but I found it super time consuming and honestly my busy teacher brain had the hardest time remembering to give points etc. I did to the scoreboard and modified it to fit my needs. I also used turn and a talk and gestures. I got better at routine when I started watching and analyzing the videos. So it definitely helped me.
I think as teachers if we see something that fits our personality we should use it and modify it to fit us.
From Kenya year 1 and 2
Hello and welcome. 😀
Question:Do you have the partners be the same 2 all the time or do you mix them up?
I mix them up as much as possible. 😀
Did you ever teach two levels at one time? I will have Kindergarten and first grade together this fall. If yes, how did you do stations? I love your channel!
Well I taught 3rd, 4th & 5 at the same time. I didn’t do stations with them the same way. With that said I think doing a combo k-1 with stations is doable. The first thing I would do is level my kids. You could have some high kinders and some low firsties. You are definitely going to have a big difference in ability. That will probably require a lot more station options that you will have to organize. But some stations can be easily differentiated. Like computer station. Some kids are working on an alphabet program while others are working on a comprehension program. The tough thing is communicating to them what they need to do. So you are either going to have to tell them verbally, which defeats a lot of what makes stations so fabulous. Or you will have to have some sort of visual system. I’m thinking like “If you are in the red group this week you will do the activities in the red folders.” (in the stations) and then like for the computer station or other stations like that maybe you put something by the computer that shows what program the red group does. Do a color for each level. The problem with this is some kids are going to say “I’m dumb because I’m always doing the “red” activity.” Or “I’m smart because I’m always doing the blue activity.” So you could mix it up and do the different levels - one week red is high the next red is low. Or you could try to use materials that are more open ended and based on creativity rather than skill. Or maybe a mixture of leveled skill and creative. Whewwww. I’m pretty sure I didn’t explain all that very well. Another option again would be to have a lot of stations. Like double. Then your high kids would be doing station games 1-5. While your middle do 6-11 and high 12-16 with a sprinkle of creative activities sprinkled in. Double whewwww. Let me know what you think. I’m feeling I could walk it through in a video. Writing it out seems a little confusing. 🫤
Hi Angie! I just found your channel through the GWV Summit app. These are some great simple games!
Hi @readgab. I’m loving the summit. I’ll check your channel out too. 🙂
I am so blessed by your videos! Thank you for all your helpful tips and ideas, I am looking forward to using them in my classroom! You shine with the kindness of Jesus, I had a feeling you were a believer! I'm sure your students were so blessed by you throughout your years of teaching!
Your kindness just filled my heart up. My ultimate goal is to shine bright for Jesus. Thanks for noticing. Thanks for watching and commenting. ❤
Hi Angie!! I liked all of it! The name dots, setting the quiet, calming ambiance of course, a few moments to begin w simple quiet, then moving on to choices--read a book, color sheet, individual activity. And the LIT notebook is phenomenal, also their choice to be w a partner for a few of the activities. Using the time for indiv. assessments. Yeah, all of it. Even as I reflect on this transition period for 4th graders of my past, I can see how this could have been tweeked. Yes, we had the dimmed lights and water break and calming moments of quiet, but the brief independent activities would have been great so that, yes, I could have fit in indiv. assessments. Whew! Thanks.
Wow. You summarize it perfectly. I’m glad you can find a way to tweak it for 4th grade. I taught fourth grade too. Love that age group. They would love some quiet independent project time. ❤
Amazing class❤️❤️ thanks
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
Yes please on the morning message. Thank you!
Thanks for letting me know that’s something that interests you.
You are AMAZING! Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you found it helpful.
Can you tell me about the soul activities for pre schoolers
I’m confused about “soul activities”. Can you give me a timestamp of the content in question. I’ll rewatch this video to see if I can figure out what this might mean.
I just rewatched and couldn’t find anything about “soul activities “.

Great video! I'm entering college for elementary school teaching soon and enjoy puppeteering a lot - so I was looking for ways to combine the two in the future!! TYSM ❤
You are very welcome. Kids love puppets. Thanks for watching. ❤
Trying to encourage five year old boy to print his name. He doesn’t want to write.
Makes me wonder why. Does he feel like he will do it wrong? I wonder what he’s thinking. Maybe ask him how he wants to sign his name. Maybe just one letter to start? So hard to give you ideas.
Hi I am quiet
Welcome. I hope you like making these books.
You should try to make one fast and fun for the kids not slow Just saying i enjoyed those more
Great idea.
Love everything that you share. Thanks for your knowledge.
I’m glad you are finding the videos worthwhile. Thanks for watching. 😊

I love the chant with the criss cross apple sauce. I will most definitely use this in my classroom !
Kids love it too. It’s one that never gets old. 💕🙂. I’m glad you found one you can use.
I'm form Mexico. Here the school year finish until July. Thanks for you support.
Wow. I love how different regions structure their school year. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
My son sees the word and spells it working on getting him to say it
Perfect.
I’m just finding your videos. On the line with numbers so number one would move in back and it would be 2 up front? You would move their numbers?
Yes. Every number would move up one. Except for the one that was in front - it would move to the back. Then eventually everyone would be in the front and everyone would eventually also be in the back. 🙂. Thanks for asking for clarification. 😀
Yes, please, on the Morning Message.
Thank you for all the amazing freebies! What a time saver!
So glad that you found them valuable. 😀
I enjoyed your video.❤
I’m so glad you liked the video.

So many kids… so many jobs. 😂
angie, I love your videos, I love you !!! I have 26 K2 children, and I´ve tried to do stations, but it´s kind of difficult, sometimes they are just boring or they don´t want to work, I have my class at 11:30:am to 2:00 pm. My last hour is very difficult because they are tired and for me is difficult. Do you have a suggestion for me for that last time? I have a binder with all your tips , and everything works that´s why i am asking you,,,,, thanks a lot! I´m Elizabeth =)
Hi Elizabeth!!! Thanks for the questions. Wow 26 kids is a lot. And having them for 2 hours and 30 minutes is a very long time. I would break the time up into 30 minute sections. That’s 5 different time slots to fill. I’d do the first 30 minutes as a whole group activity. I’d pack it with routines that provide for kids to interact with each other and time for you to talk with students one on one when possible. This might be an independent worksheet for 10-15 minutes that is not too hard for kids. If they get done early they can do their early finisher binder or look at books or color/ draw. Then you can do some movement activities or finger plays for the remainder of the first 30 minutes. As far as the last hour I would do 30 minutes of stations. But keep each station pretty short. Maybe 7-10 minutes at first. Keep the activities in the stations something that they are confident in doing. That’s where the games I’ve been showing come in handy. Since you have 26 kids I would have 13 stations. Again they should be familiar with what they need to do at these stations. I would praise them a lot for the first 5-7 days when they are stay on task , cleaning up quickly when it’s time to rotate stations and anything else that seems to be chaotic. And I would only do 3 rotation. That’s going to take 20-30 minutes. For the last half hour I would do a creative learning activity or movement. And then I always like to end with a whole group story and review of the day. Watch my end of day routine video to get some ideas. I know it’s not their end of day but it’s their end of day with you. Basically keep the time going with an active activity followed by a calm followed by an active activity. Give them time to talk and move. It’s going to take some trial and error but pretty soon they will be wanting to stay with you longer because they are learning and having fun. I feel like I could give a 2 day talk on answering your question. I don’t think I gave you enough details but hopefully you can get some insights. 🙂
Hi, Angie!!!! I love you today more than yesterday!!! I really apreciate all your couch!. I start doing the small groups and stations, I don't have all the material. I tried to download the material but I can' t...I don't know why. Everything you give works perfectly. I still working in all you answered me, because its a lot of detail for me. But my Savior is Jesus and then you on earth (lol).. thanks a lot.. Elizabeth
I’m not sure why the download isn’t working. I’m away from my main computer right now but I will see how I can help you tomorrow. I’ll make sure you get what you need. ❤❤. Thanks for your dedication to Jesus. He is my priority too. 😊First things first.
Thanks a lot , Angie! I've already seen the end routine and I'd writen all in my teacher's binder. Now, I am thinking in my 13 stations. You already gave us a lot of videos with that!! Thanks a lot! Jesus always The First. Love ya!
@elizabethmorales6398 I just sent you an email. I hope it gets to you. Let me know if you don't get an email with some of the resources sent as attachments. Hopefully, I can get you what you need this way.
